Within MetaTagger I want to pulling together metadata about a deployed page and passing

I am passing a list of assets and related metadata from metatagger to the search engine, which it uses to populate its index files. This list must include the URL of the deployed page, so that it can be used in the link shown in the search results. I generate this list using the CLT iwextrattr (plus a bit of XSLT)

To do this, I need to have a rule to generate a deployed URL (www.site.com/area/subarea/page.html) from the internal reference ( mt.site.com/default/mysite/home/workarea/area/subarea/page.html)

My problem is that iwextrattr cannot give me the local reference (vpath?) as a starting point, because it is not a TeamSite extended attribute.

Any suggestions as to how I can retrieve the vpath/generate the deployed URL? Anyone else been here before?

Hi,

Someone with more expertise in TeamSite could probably answer this better, but I do know that there is a clt that will give you the vpath -- iwvpath. Using the -r command will give you the vpath starting with the archive.

Does your internal reference /default/mysite... actually include the domain of the web site?

In our implementation we use branch names that represent the final destination web site - for example /default/main/www.dotars.gov.au/workarea/www/......

In our workflow we have a simple task that sets default metadata before launching metatagger - this includes getting the branch path for the file stripping out the branch name and then combining it with the path from the base of the workarea - for example /default/main/www.dotars.gov.au/workarea/www/subfolder/page.htm becomes www.dotars.gov.au/subfolder/page.htm - this is then set as an extended attribute that metatagger can reference automatically you can then prevent your users from changing it in the MT GUI.
