Problem running report from within a maximo dialog

Hi,

We have a requirement to run a report (which takes 1 input parameter) from with in a maximo dialog.
For that i have configured the event as RUNREPORTBYNAME and value as stockvarience.rptdesign in the application designer for the button in the dialog.The report itself is working fine when run in BIRT.However the problem is in maximo,when i run the report by clicking on the button from within the dialog the BIRT parameter popup appears on the screen instead of te maximo one.This might be because from the event its actually calling the report design file which has the scalar parameters and in maximo the parameters are considered at runtime from the report administration.Does any one has this encountered such requirement?Is there any other way to run the report from within the maximo dilaog(apart from the above one).

I've never encountered a requirement like that, but I would suggest you take a look on the following classes:

ReportAdminService
ReportGenerator
ReportUtil

Since you already can run the report, it shouldn't be very difficult to adapt your current code to emulate Maximo's standard behavior, and I believe those classes could be a good starting point on that direction.
