Overlap of the caption in the croos table in pdf report
miche80
In the production of a pdf report of charts and tables on many pages, it happens that the cross table is broken to half in two pages and the caption, that is repeated in the new page, it crosses to the first line. How can I avoid this problem of visualization or to prevent that a table is truncated to half when the space after all to the page it isn?t enough to contain it?

I see. This looks like a bug. What is your BIRT version? If using an older version, maybe the newest version doesn't have this issue. Let me know.

I use version 2.5.2 for Galileo.

Since I don't have a report design to run having this issue, can you download the newest designer, create a new workspace, copy your problem design over and try it in that version to see if there is any change?

Is it possible to write a function that checks if the table breaks for the end of the page and then makes it start in a new page?
This thing would resolve my problem.

Have you tried it in the newest version yet? You might be able to write script to manually insert page breaks where you need them by tracking how many rows you have in between page breaks and how many charts, as long as they are consistently enough sized that you can make space assumptions based on the number of each of these. You might be able to grab the height of the chart to use, but I don't know that you'll be able to grab the height of the table/crosstable.

You issue appears to be one with the sizing of the grid or whatever you're embedding your charts in, and the size of the page in PDF. In the viewer, your layout is expanding to fit everything in. In PDF, the page size doesn't change, based on your design. If you're wanting to export to PDF, be sure you design your report in a fixed layout. That should probably help with your issue.

Hi..
As i was working with Report generation using BIRT, i came across some issue regarding pagination...
As its well known that BIRT has variable size pagination mainly to view reports on HTML and fixed size pagination for rendering to pdf.
SO my question is that is it possible to perform two operations at the same time.. i mean i want to view the same report on HTML on single page which force me to use variable size pagination and at the same time export the same report into a well defined fixed size pagination format?????
Any help/Reply will be appreciated
Regards
Saurabh

You can design a report for PDF pagination in a fixed layout, then run it without the viewer frameset and it won't be paginated.
