MS Office EXCEL Data format issue in Actuate 10
tpvlaxmi
Hi,
I am developing an application using Actuate 10. We need to generate Excel report.
I generated the report from designer and trying to open using format parameter value as '__format=xls' and saving in some location. When I tried to open the excel sheet in MS Office 2007, it is giving some data format issue. Here is full description of exception.
"The file you are trying to open, 'iv.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now. YES/NO/Cancel"
Once I click 'YES' it is opening in MS-Office 2007. I am not loosing any data. I checked the file format of generated Excel sheet, it is "XML Spread Sheet 2003 (*.xml).
This message is not coming in MS-office 2003.
Is there any way we can specify the format of Excel sheet to MS office 2007 compatibility. Please help me. I am not aware of this.
Thanks in advance

This issue is because of changes in file format of Office 2007. I don't know of a way to change this. If I find anything new on this, I'll let you know.
You might try the Tribix XLS emitter. It uses binary XLS rather than XML XLS, so it might not get this error.
