cannot set a label text from a table oncreate event

I have a label somewhere in my report named "out"<br />
<br />
from a table's onPrepare event I can set the above label's text<br />
<p class='bbc_indent' style='margin-left: 40px;'>var outlabel = reportContext.getDesignHandle().findElement("out");<br />
outlabel.setText("hello");</p>
<br />
but the same code dows not work on the table's onCreate event<br />
<br />
Is this normal ?<br />
How should I do the job ?<br />

You cannot modify properties of a report item on the onCreate event, only in the onPrepare event. If you need a dynamic label item, consider using the Dynamic Text item, or a Data item.
