Page Break in 2.6
ganeshr
We use ver.2.6 for designing reports. One problem (and two scenarios) that we have been frequently facing when designing reports are
1. Page breaks on grids/tables
When nesting a grid or a table inside the master table and trying to print a list of say customers and account information (n number of rows from dataset), the nested table or grid jumps (breaks) over to a new page even after setting the page break after and before to be avoid and inside to be auto. I have also made the page break interval to 0. This setting for page breaks are done on the table itself, nested table, grid, and all rows. Inspite of all this if there are more rows that it would fit on one page, the nested table/grid will start on next page.
2. Page breaks on text (running text that are over 4000 chars)
Same thing happens with textboxes that have over several characters. Users tend to enter pages and pages of data, basically lot of text. If there are two text boxes on a page, the first one, if it could print on half a page prints fine, whereas the next text box starts on a new page with the same setting explained above. In here both the row and dynamic text (since we will have html content) will have the page break setting as above.
Please advise asap.

Has anyone had the same kinda problem before. This particularly happens when the text has html content in a dynamic text element. The content type is set to "Auto" so it can handle both plain and html content.

Any comments from anyone? This is killing our time!

We are also having trouble figuring out the page break logic, especially with PDF output. Attached is a sample report and XML data file that displays our issue. When the first large dynamic text field has lots of data, it always starts displaying on the next page instead of starting right underneath the previous row which just has a small text label. We have tried the various page break settings (avoid, auto, etc) and can't seem to come up with a consistent method that works in all our reports.

I have same problem. Page breaks not working correctly with dynamic text [html content]. I have html content inside a table column, if next rows contents are huge then whole row is shifted to next page [leaving first page half blank], instead of breaking html content into pages. I have BIRT 3.7 and tried setting row page-break-inside to auto and dynamicText page-break-inside to auto.
Any help would be really appreciated.
