8008: Load balancer cannot locate member. The specified volume is not online

Hi all.

An "8008: Load balancer cannot locate member. The specified volume is not online" error is shown when I try to access the iServer Management page after a restart of the server.
What is really odd since when I install the iServer Express and execute the server when requested (on installation prompt) it works fine and I can access to the Management page without any problem. If I restart the iServer and try to access the Management page I get the error, saying that the volume is not online. So basically if I don't restart the server or the machine, then everything is fine, but this is not realistic at all.

I found out that this error normally is associated with lack of connection with the postgres database. But I checked and the server is indeed connected to the database (I checked this on the linux shell and also using de pgAdmin).

The iServer is installed on a CentOS5 machine.

I looked on forums and through the documentation for this behaviour but didn't find anything similar.
Could someone shed a light on this.

1. Is this Actuate version 10 SP1 or Actuate version 11?

2. Can you archive, zip and attach all the iServer log files to this post?
Look for the logs under AcServer/log or AcServer/data/server/log

Hi Psat, 
Did you already try to start the postgres database manually? 
The command should be something like: 
/home/AcServer/postgresql/bin/postgres -D /home/AcServer/data/encyc/postgresql/data 
Then start the iServer using the start_srvr.sh script and try to connect with the management console.

Hi Janderegg,
i had that same 8008 error, may be due to the different reason to you but in the end i found that it was caused by the username and password combination I was using with Iserver.
I was logged on as administrator and had a different password to the administrator of iserver(actually no password as default) and as a result when iserver start it was unable to start the required service.

Hi janderegg. I did that several times before posting in the forum

. I even studied the installation script to check if it was doing something different there. I did start the ppostgres server manually and then the iServer, exactly like you're saying. It's quite frustrating.

Hi magic_bern. I'll try that. But I find it odd as in the installation it initializes the postgres with the account info we provide and then starts the iServer just fine. It's just on the restart of the server that it fails. But what you're saying makes perfect sense. I'll test your solution.

Is it a 64bits machine?
If you do a ps -ef |grep AcServer what process can you see?

Hi akulkarni. The iServer installed is the Actuate Version 11 (Build 110B100926) 
I took a look in the logs a few days ago and I couldn't identify a problem related to this, although I saw some Soap exceptions. Anyway Attached goes the log directory with all the logs.

It's a 64Bits. CentOS release 5.5 (Final), Linux 2.6.18-194.el5 x86_64. 
 
As for the ps -ef. I posted a screenshot. (the image a bit big dough :S ) You can see the processes running there.
