TeamSite Upgrade
mksiw
All:
There is a plan to upgrade Teamsite from 5.0.2 to TeamSite 5.5.2 and Also to set up Active Directory. The working environment is win2k.
Looking for suggestion to choose the best route:
Is it good to go with the Upgrade first and then setup the active directory OR Set up active directory with existing TS5.0.2 environment and doing the TS upgrade to 5.5.2
Looking forward for your valuable suggestion.
thanks in advance

I would think that first the upgrade, and then the conversion to active dirctory. 5.5 has the unique ability of mapping a user to any SID, so if you upgrade first, then when you switch to the AD, you can use the iwidmap to have all of your files still owned by the right people.

I think we fixed some bugs in AD in the latest release, so doing the upgrade first does make sense. I would also recommend you get to the latest SP before doing the AD work, so you have TS doing what you want before you do the authentication changes.
