ajunuthula
Hi,
When a user clicks on the button, records must be extracted from the oracle database and written to the report. Any suggestions please?
Thank you,
Aparna J

Hi Aparna,
Can you explain this a little more in detail? I don't think I'm completely understanding.

Imagine there is a button in the report. There is a table in the oracle database. When the button is clicked, the rows must be read from the table and displayed in the report table.
Thank you!

So, run a blank report with a button in it and when it is clicked show the complete table from a database? Is this what you're wanting to do?

Sorry for the delay, I have been in the hospital with my wife. You can make a label that says something like "show table" with a hyperlink set up to drill through to either this or another report design. You'd need to have a hidden parameter in your report to be able to pass a value through to say that you need to unhide/undrop the table if using the same report. You'd then hide the label that says "show table" based on this parameter value as well. If using a separate report to show the table, you'd just have to drill through to this new report.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have questions or need a simple example posted. If you need an example, let me know your BIRT version.
