Can MAXIMO 7 report Request Page display default Date value as Current Date?

Hi,
Can MAXIMO 7 report Request Page display default Date value as Current Date? Am working on MAXIMO 7.1.1.5 with BIRT 2.3.2. Is there ways to do so? Tried &SYSDATE& as default value in the Parameter Name, it could not generate page. Any idea what went wrong?
