available_templates.cfg

All,

I have run into a very perplexing problem regarding available_templates.cfg.

When a user is inside a certain folder in templatedata, in our case, the folder is named cornwall, they are not shown any workflow templates, even though we have several configured for the branch they are in.

Now, if a user is in ANOTHER folder, everything works fine. I have looked at available_templates.ipl and turned on debugging. All it does it confirn that it's not workking, but doesn'r provide anything further.

Has anyone heard of this problem before. I am attaching the output from available_templates.ipl for the two case (both on the same branch). It may help...

This problem is extremely weird. If I set the branch_list element to include all branches, you can submit from the cornwall folder in a workarea. It is as soon as you restrict the branches that you get the problem. I was able to duplicate this problem on other systems as well.

Maybe a few people could create a folder called "cornwall" in a WA and try it for themselves...

It's because the word "cornwall" contains the word "all".

I did some debugging and came to the same conclusion. That is one of the worst things I have seen in my life. This needs to be addressed. I can see the message to our users...

"Oh yeah, if you folder contains "all" then workflow won't work"

This is some expensive software, not some rinky-**** application a college student wrote..

James, I hope you have a bug filed on this that we can all pile on. Can you provide a bugid & those of us interested can attach to it ?

It's an extremely easy fix, we are just going to add it to the existing script, but something that should be addressed for future releases of the software.

Are there any other issues we should be aware off regarding available_templates.ipl? Reserved words etc??
