CrossTab columns
A@vi
Hi,
I have a crosstab report.
In crosstab , generally the columns iterate.
Can i add an extra column in a crosstab report which should have a different expression from other columns ?
Please let me know.
Thanks

Hi A@vi,
You can add a derived measure by clicking on the icon next to the measure in the crosstab. You can then create a new binding there. If you just want a column added to the end, you can click on the icon next to the dimension and add a total field. You can then use this total area to add a single column to the crosstab.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
I want columns as :
slNo StudentName SubjectCode1 SubjectCode2.. MarksObtained MaxMarks

1 Avi(StudentName) 40(Ext) 10(Int) 50(Ext) 15(Int) 105 120
2 Avi1(StudentName) 50(Ext) 12(Int) 25(Ext) 20(Int) 107 120

the ext & int comes under a single SubjectCode and it will increase... With order, all the Ext & Int marks to be added in a single different column called MarksObtained which is constant. & Max Marks will be constant in another column.
If we add a derived column ... it will also repeat with Ext & Int.

So, you want to add the Marks obtained and the MaxMarks columns to the end of your crosstab? If so, I'd use the total section of the crosstab by clicking on the dimension icon and adding the total column. You can then add a grid to the total column and make multiple columns within it. Let me know if you have questions.

How i will add the total column ?
I tried with grid & table. But the alignment is not coming proper.
It is extending much bigger than the crosstab.

You add the total column to the crosstab by clicking on the icon next to your dimension and adding the total. Once the total column appears, you'd add a grid with however many columns you need then just add a data binding or dynamic text box to each cell, not a full table. You already have the crosstab to iterate through the rows. You'd have to size the total column and the grid cells to fit your data.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
A@vi
ok... you are telling to add the total... It will come as totals of Ext & Int.
Remove that totals in the boxes. Insted of that .. add a grid. Inside add a dynamic text or data binding ?
I tried with this one. But i m not getting the expression to write .
I tried as : (measure["ext"])+(measure["int"]) in the expression in MarksObtained.
But it is showing error as :
org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.EngineException: Retrieving binding data error.
Am i doing the correct way ?

Can you attach your report design so I can see what you've done? Also let me know your BIRT version.
A@vi
This is the rpt design.

Try deleting the element you put into your total area and put a data binding or dynamic textbox in its place and use your expression as the expression for that instead.

Thanks....
It is working...
If i have further querries .. i will let u know..
