dynamic access to dataset values in gantt chart
HeSchag
Hi,
I am working with gantt charts and want to change the color of a series dynamically on the basis of the content of a dataset column.
I know how to change the fill color but my problem is how to get the content of any specific column.
For example:
the column is named 'location' and there are 4 possibilities to choose.
if the dataset row contains 'country1' fill should be red, 'country2' blue, ?
function beforeDrawDataPoint( dph, fill, icsc )
{
if(dph? .equals(?country1?)) fill.set(255.0.0);
}
I am guessing something like dph.getUserValue(?row[\?location\?]?) is right, but it doesn?t work. Returned value is always NULL.
Any help is appreciated.
Herbert
PS: Using BIRT 2.6.1

Hi Herbert,
So, the value you're wanting to grab is not used in your chart?
HeSchag
Exactly that is the problem. - In my current solution I had to pimp the taskname with my desired value column(s). Like that the values can be accessed during building up the chart, but have to be cut out for displaying. Problem starts in combination with (task / series) label formatting (e.g. date as postfix)

Question is, how to access any other value columns in the dataset which is used for the chart.
