You want to integrate the viewer into your application? Or do you simply want to be able to access a report from an application? Let me know.

I am able to access a report from an application like concurrent program.

If you just want to access reports from your application, you can deploy the viewer separately and just make calls to your reports from your application using URLs.

Ok.. I have deployed BIRT viewer in separate directory. How to call by using URL. Or we have to call by using print driver class?. As per my analysis we have to register report in Oracle applications under the one of the responsibility. Is there any way apart from this. <br />

Thanks & Regards.<br />

If you set it up in this way:
http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/deploy/viewerSetup.php
After you click on the link to make sure you've deployed correctly, there will be a test report link you can click on. When you click on this, the URL to the report will be like the URL you'll need to use to access reports from your application. If you can do hyperlinks from your Oracle application, you'll be able to call the BIRT reports.

Hi,<br />
As per my understanding you are saying that we can deploy BIRT out side of the application server like Tomcat, Jboss .. But i am looking for need to call BIRT report from Oracle application as a concurrent program. Please correct me if i am wrong.
mwilliams
You can deploy BIRT in the Tomcat/JBoss app server alongside your other app and make calls to the viewer. You could also then embed the viewer into JSP pages using the tag library. So, if you had the ability to create JSP pages within your application, you could embed the viewer in this fashion. Let me know if this is not what you're wanting to do.
