The Table must be able to access one data set.
yellap78
I have a .rptfile designed in 2.2.0 designer. When I try to open in 2.6.2 designer, it upgrades the file and tries to open the preview....
It shows the error message....
Errors in Report
Line 266: The Table must be able to access one data set.
Not sure how to handle the report layout...
Thanks,
YA

Hi YA,
Do you have tables that are not bound to a dataSet? If you're using tables to help with the layout of your design, you should probably use grids instead. Let me know.
yellap78
Yes. There are some tables with out data set defined. But they are working fine in 2.2.0 version. <br />
<br />
1.Is there any setting/configuration to overcome the problem.<br />
OR<br />
2. Do we need to re-write the whole report format again using grid.<br />
would you mind to provide a sample to convert a existing table layout into grid <br />
layout.<br />
<br />
<br />
It doesn't seem be finding the existing default theme as well, when I use the below snippet in latest version, it says it could not the theme.<br />
<br />
<pre class='_prettyXprint _lang-auto _linenums:0'><property name="theme">BirtCSSTheme.defaultTheme</property>
<list-property name="libraries">
<structure>
<property name="fileName">../cssLibraries/BirtCSSTheme.rptlibrary</property>
<property name="namespace">BirtCSSTheme</property>
</structure>
</list-property></pre>

I am very new to birt :-)<br />

YA,
If you just give them a dataSet, what does it do?

I get the below exception: By the way how about styles and themes, the default theme doesn't seem to be available now..<br />

Are you literally just using the tables instead of grids? Just for layout? If so, the best thing to do would probably be to create grids to replace the tables and drag the labels and other elements from the table into the grid. As for the styles and theme issue, did you have a style sheet in a library or something that you can't access now?
yellap78
1. I could figure out the stylesheet issue.
2. In 2.2.0 version, we were using a table without dataset assigned, however some of the cell are bound with dataset.
Now when I move to 2.6.2, a table requires a dataset assigned. After I assign a dataset to the table, it don't work - throws an exception.
As I mentioned in other thread, I am looking for a migration path from 2.2.0 to 2.6.2.
Thanks for response.

The exception above acts like it's unable to access your Oracle data. Maybe a driver issue?

i have a method for you,
first. you need select the table and let the table has the focus
second. look the properties of the table, a property name is "Data Set",in the Drop-down box,you need select a Data Set of you d?finied.
