Passing values to a multi-select parameter through Url

In my report, I have a multi-select parameter named rpPerson whose datatype is Integer. The value is set to personid and displaytext to person name. In the beforeOpen script I have written the following code to add it in the where clause.

personId=reportContext.getParameterValue("rpPerson");
selectedPersonIds="";

for(counter=0;counter<personId.length;counter++){
selectedPersonIds+= personId[counter] + ","
}
selectedPersonIds=selectedPersonIds.substring(0,selectedPersonIds.length-1);

queryString += " and person_id IN ("+selectedPersonIds+" ) ";

This works fine when I run the report in report designer. But, how can I pass the values in the url from my application. A sample url is

http://localhost:8080/reports/frameset?__report=PersonDetailsRep.rptdesign&rpPersonId=1,2,3

I know this will work if I pass like ...rpPersonId=1&rpPersonId=2&rpPersonId=3. But, my requirment is different.

Now, if I select multiple records, how should I pass these integer values in a single parameter?

Hi Sarika,

So, you're specifying the multiselect values? Not having them picked from the parameter screen?

If you want to do it like your sample above with just a comma separated list, you could create a string parameter and use it to pass your comma separated string of parameters in your URL. You'd just have to handle this in your beforeOpen script. If the hidden parameter that you only use in your URL is not null, you'd use it, if it is null, you'd use the already set up multi-select one.
