Exception Handling in BIRT

Hi,

There is a specific requirement from my client that all the exceptions should be displayed to the user. Say there is a scenario where there report generation fails due to data problem, the user should get a pop up with the error code and the error message (similar to an Alert).I tried to catch all the exception, set in the persistant global variable and display it in the footer. This doesnt seems to convince my client. They want a pop up or an error page to be displayed.

Can somebody please help me with this!!!

There are 3 to 4 jsp's over which my birt content falls. since the birt content is the last piece to fall, after all the jsp's, i am not able to use the jsp pages to display the error messages.

You could use something like:

alert(document.getElementById('error_detail0_0').innerHTML);

using javascript in a text control to create a popup.
