Question regarding PPT output
guidupuy
Hi to all,
I've been fiddling about with BIRT for a couple of days now, trying to automate the creation of a Powerpoint report by feeding XML data as an input.
The lack of multi-line text support has been quite a downer for me. Say I load a text (or dynamic text or even data element) in a table cell - in this case let's say our text is "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". Let's also assume that our cell is quite narrow, so that the text doesn't fit horizontally and reads:
"The quick brown
fox jumps over
the lazy dog"
When you export this simple example to PPT, the text is split and displayed in multiple text boxes instead of just one. It may look just the same, but it makes your life miserable if you want to later modify the text.
Is there a way to wrap the full text in just one text box?
Thanks a bunch for the help!

It looks like this is just how the ppt emitter handles multi-line text. You could always file an enhancement request to make this export into one text box. Maybe they'll have a workaround to make this happen with the current emitter.
