Hi,
I have to add round brackets around certain float values on my report to show that I am going to subtract these values later in my summary. Is there a way to do it?
Example
COl1 col2 col3 col4
x x x (123,789.45)
x x x (343,523.45)
x x x (463,453.45)
Sum (930,766.36)
When i edited the data field in col4 as string to "(" + dataSetRow["col4"] + ")" :It works fin but i cannot format the number the way I want it and also cannot use an aggregrate funtion to add the values of the same
Is there a way to do it?
Thanks
mwilliams
As long as the bindings for the different columns are in the table, you should be able to use aggregations on the columns, so if you use a dynamic text or a new data binding rather than editing the column binding for that column, you should be able to do what you want.

Thanks for the quixk reply.
Yes i agree i can perform the aggregrate function. However I would want to format the numbers to display "," i.e. 1000s separator.
As the data type is now string, i cannot modify "format number" properties.
Any suggestions on the same?
Thank you once again for your help

Use a plain text box with type html selected in the drop down, then when displaying the number portions, use the value-of tag and use the "format" property to enter a format for the number.
You could also select the option to display negative numbers with () around it in the FormatNumber section of the property editor.
Let me know.
