Fixing width of the labels on X axis for Bar chart
RohanKK
Hi,
I am trying to fix the width of labels on the X axis for my bar chart , I am not able to find any property related to this.
Do anyone have any idea how to restrict the width to a particular number of characters and show full text in tool tip ??
TIA
-Rohan

Rohan,
Attached is an example with 2 solutions to your problem:
1) the first chart shows how you can trim the X-Axis labels when selecting the Category (X) Series in the chart wizard;
2) the second chart shows scripting to attempt the same thing. Notice that with scripting, some labels will not appear because their width is calculated before the script gets executed; if the original label doesn't fit, it is skipped.
As for tooltips, they cannot be added on top of the label. The best you can do is add them on top of the series value (i.e. the bar)
Hope this helps.
