Helios BIRT Designer All-in-One for Windows, Rel. 2.6

Hi,

I have downloaded the file "birt-report-designer-all-in-one-2_6_2.zip" (175 MB) from the "Helios BIRT Designer All-in-One for Windows, Rel. 2.6" site (http://www.birt-exchange.com/be/info/helios-birt-designer-windows/).

After un-zipping, I get a file/directory structure named "eclipse" with many subdirectories and files.

But in the directory "eclipse", the only executables are "eclipse.exe" and "eclipsec.exe". Both pop up a color logo, but do not really start a program like the BIRT designer I expect.

There is no other executable program named "BIRT" etc. for the BIRT Designer at all...

Where do I find the program file for the Windows-based BIRT-Designer, version 2.6.2? What is the correct file name?

You've got the right things, after starting Eclipse, you usually have to go to the workbench... Then on the top right, switch to the Report Design perspective.

that's my problem... there is none such perspective (see attaches screen shot).

Do I need to download something else?

What is your operating system? The splash screen is usually followed by a dialog box prompting you to choose a workspace. The eclipse designer does not start unless you provide this worspace directory. Please look out for this dialog, if you still don't see it, try downloading it again.
