Can you explain what you mean by dynamic data? If using 2.5 or above, there are page and report variables and a variables auto text that can be used in the masterpage to display the variables.

I'm using 2.3, and I need to display months on it. Is there any built in function for generating months in the layout. Thanks !!

I need to display name of the month in a table header.

Your initial question is about the masterpage. If you just need the month in the table header, group your report by month and use the group header instead of the table header to display the month. That should do it.

Yeah got that. It's just out of curiosity I'm asking this, is there any built in function so that we can generate month automatically similar to page number. Thanks !!

The month in which you run the report? If so, you could use new Date().getMonth() to grab the numerical month from the current date. I think this is 0 based, so you'd probably have to add 1 to this. Or, you could simply drop a data element in the header and put new Date() as the expression and set the dateformat in the property editor with a format of MMMM and you'll see the current month in the full spelled out version, i.e. "April". Hope this helps.
