Conditional Frames control BIRT
newBIRT
Hi,
In Actuate eRDPro, there is a conditional frames control that allows conditional section to be easily implemented.
May I know if we have the same equivalent function/features in BIRT?
Can anyone please kindly share their BIRT knowledge?
Many Thanks!

I have not worked with eRDPro, can you explain a little more about this feature?

Hi,
An example will be as follow.
If condition1
Show chart
Else if condition2
Show chart + Show fields
Else
Show fields
With this conditional frames, the report body output can be manipulated easily with a single select statement.
May I know if there is a similar feature in BIRT?

How to do something similar with BIRT really depends on what your condition is. If it is based on a parameter value, you can drop your chart or drop your table if one of them is not desired in the output. This can be done in your beforeFactory method. All you have to do is name the chart and table in the property editor. Then you can grab them and drop them in your script depending on the parameter value.
If it depends on your data, it's not as simple. You'd have to write an expression in the visibility expression area in the property editor for each element.
