You could count them in the onCreate of your detail row by incrementing a variable. What are you trying to do with this information?

Actually my scenario is i have a report which consists of 4000 rows so it displays in different pages but my requirement is to display the total numbers of rows in each page.

What is your BIRT version? If using 2.5 or above, you should be able to use a page variable, assign the value in the endOfPage event, and then use the variable auto-text in your masterpage to display the page variable. Let me know your BIRT version and I'll try to get a simple example made if you need it!

Here's an example. To see where all there is scripting, click on the outline and look at the "scripts" section. In the masterpage footer is an auto-text element that displays the value of the page variable. Hope this helps.
