Report parameters

Hi,

I have a button "edit" in my report. When clicked, the report with the parameters loaded must be opened.

Here is my report:

I am trying to pass parameters in the URL, but its landing in the report rather than the parameter page, because I am passing all the required parameters in the URL. Is there a way that I can have some hidden paramters or any other way of doing this.

Why are you passing the current parameters if you want the user to enter new ones? Are you passing them through to use with the "back" button or something? If so, you can set up new parameters in your design that are hidden to use to pass the old parameters through and leave the others for selection by the user. Let me know.

Yes, it is similar to "passing them through to use with the "back" button", user must be able to see the current parameters and then he/she can change the parameters looking at the current ones

If I'm understanding correctly, this would be the same as clicking the "Run Report" option in the viewer toolbar. It pops the parameter page back up with the parameters the same as they were just chosen and allow you to choose new values and submit again. Correct?

Yes, but We would like to have the same functionality to the button in the report rather than "Run Report".

If you simply reload the report, do the default values show up again rather than the last ones selected?

If the cached values don't show up in the refreshed report's parameter page, you might be able to do what you're wanting by passing the "old" values through hidden parameters and setting the default parameters to the old parameter values with the getDefaultValueList script method of the parameter.

Can you please provide us an example demonstrating getDefaultValueList script method of the parameter.

Theoretically, you should be able to just pass the value from the hidden parameter through and the default will be that, but I can't get it to work from the designer. Could be just because I'm using the designer, I'm not sure. I have one more thing for you to try though. Keep doing as you're doing by just passing the values through, but also add the url parameter "__parameterpage=true" added to the end of your URL to see if the values you pass through are set as the defaults when you actually pass values.

By setting the __parameterpage=true, I can get the parameter page with the current parameters.
