Setting up classpath of Java files for use in non-Eclipse environments
kumaresh
Hello all
Am using BIRT reports which are supported by both Eclipse generated and third party Java class files. When I run the report locally, they can be accessed. But when i deploy the report in a server, how do i connect the third party Java class files to make the report run in a server environment.

After you design your report in the BIRT Designer, you can deploy to a server a number of ways.
1. Using BIRT Runtime from Eclipse.org gives you some JAR files and API so you can create your own Java classes to run the BIRT reports. This runtime also has an example web viewer you can use as a code example for showing the reports in a browser.
2. Use BIRT iServer Evaluation from this site, install it, then there is a web interface for uploading and running your BIRT designs. You use a bit of JavaScript to integrate the report into your web apps.
3. Run your reports in the cloud by uploading them to BIRT onDemand. You still use JavaScript to integrate the report from the cloud into your web apps.
