How to compare both data and time

When I try to compare the date & timne parameter input with date in a data field, BIRT compares only date but ignore the time, e.g.:

where2 = " and invbalances.physcntdate BETWEEN " + MXReportSqlFormat.getStartDayTimestampFunction(params["pDueStartDate"])
+ " AND " + MXReportSqlFormat.getEndDayTimestampFunction(params["pDueEndDate"]);

Do you know how to compare both date and time?

What is the type of the parameter pDueStartDate? Is it a Date? or Date Time? Also what version of BIRT are you using?
