How to edit Dash boards

Hi,

I have created dash board by using One report and different data selector gadgets for parameter entries as an administrator.It is working fine in the tab i have created it. I have also shared it with one other user. by using share property available with it.


i can see that dash board in the dashboard collection of shared folder.

Now my question are

1. is it right way to save created dashboard by sharing it or there is another way ?


2. What if i want to edit the previously created dash board. (Whose tab has been deleted )?


3. why i was not able to see all contents of dashboard developed by other user in this case it is administrator even after sharing it with him.


4. I read that to change the layout of subscribed dash board layout, we need to copy it , how to do that.


Any help will we appreciated o any of the topic.

Hi lrnit,

1. Dashboards that you create and link to subscribed dashboards are saved to user's personal dashboard file (__xxxxx_dashboard.dashboard, where xxxxx is the username) usually located in user's home folder.
2. If the dashboard was linked (shared), you can drag it back from Dashboard gallery (Use the add content button)
3. Shared dashboard adheres to Actuate's file permission, make sure the reports used in the dashboards have the right privileges to be seen by the dashboard users.
4. The copy option is available in the dashboard drop down menu. One you make a copy, you can change the layout, add/delete/modify gadgets in the cloned dashboard.
