template generate problem

our publishers are experiencing a problem when generating templates, we get the following error in the /var/adm/uwui/error.log

iwcgi_util.cpp:
WARNING: This file is in conflict with
the version in the Staging Area.

Please select 'OK' to update the file
with the version in the Staging Area
or 'Cancel' to edit the existing
version in the workarea
---end----

what "This file in conflict" is I am unsure ...

according to solaris's truss this error is written to the log file by

/web/teamsite/iw-home/httpd/iw-bin/iweditfile.cgi

some clues would be great - thanks

ps. we have solaris-8 Generic_108528-18 with TS Version:
5.5.2.1 14136 20021127

The error indicates that the file in the Workarea is older than the one present in the STAGING. So First update the workarea with the version of the file in the STAGING and then edit the file as required.
