Inconsistency in Chart and DataCube
Bharath406
Hi,
I have a report that checks for the trend of backlog defects over a period of time. In the report display, I'm using both a chart and a datacube. Please find the screenshot.
However, there is a mismatch in the data between chart and the datacube. For example, in the screenshot,
3-Normal has a count of 405 in the first week. But in the chart it starts from around 260. Same is the case with other ones.
Only, 1-Blocker seems to be consistent across the datacube and the chart.
Note: The report is run for May 1st to Jun 16th.
Any help is appreciated.

Is this using the preview tab of the designer or does it do this if you run it with the web viewer as well? The reason I ask is that there may be some row limits on cubes or dataSets that is causing the issue. If it's not just in the preview window, can you attach your report design?

Hi Michael,

This happens in the web viewer. Attached is the design file.
Thanks,
Ok, at first glance, the discrepancy may be happening because the chart is grouped by "weeks", which will be a "week of year" grouping, and your crosstab is grouped by "week of month". There isn't an option for "week of month" in the chart. So, if you change the crosstab dimension from "week of month" to "week of year" you might then get matching results. Let me know.

Thanks for the reply Michael. I figured it out. The data showed in DataCube and the chart are not same as I assumed. DataCube was doing a cumulative count so it showed more counts compared to Chart. Its all solved now.
