Special Characters in HTML Output

hi, I try to build stacked bar chart with data from database. One dimension I use as group item contains values as <=**** or >=****. In my report the sign "=" is not displayed correctly. I tried using unicode ≤ and masking the = sign with backslashes without success. Is there a way to display the = sign correctly? I?am working with BIRT 2.6.2..
