Ad Hoc & Interactive Reporting in open source BIRT

I have created a report by using BIRT Professionall 11 and used BIRT Designer Pro/BIRT Viewer/Interactive Viewer/Dashboards/Ad Hoc Reporting/Server/BIRT 360.<br />
<br />
The report created by Professional edition was stunning and on UI,provided me <br />
<br />
1. Interaction/drilling with charts and table, i could do many opeartion like chaning colors of charts/tables,legends etc<br />
<br />
2. Creation of dashboard/mashboard with on the fly changes,just opposite to open source,where any change on UI display processing<br />
<br />
3. Exporting of charts in pdf,when opening this pdf report, chart was drawn, Excellent one.... <br />
<br />
<strong class='bbc'>Curious to know, Can i get similar functionalities in open source BIRT ?</strong><br />
<strong class='bbc'>Please mention it clearly,so that,we can make decision on using open source and/or commercial version.It is very urgent...... </strong><br />

If yes with open source,I would like to have buttons in frame(left or top) and charts/tables in frame(right or middle).<br />
<br />
ould you please suggest any example of chart/table interaction/drill with on the fly changes,mashboard,dashboard?<br />
which open source BIRT version and how? I am currently using eclipse helios 3.6.2.<br />

Hi Atar,
Actuate BIRT is built on the foundation of Open Source BIRT. So you can get similar functionality with open source BIRT as well but it would require you to do quite a bit of software engineering. You may want to check BIRT Exchange - Marketplace, BIRT Exchange - Devshare and discussion forums to see examples.
