Hyperlinks on data elements binded to Joined Data Sets Columns
SoInt
Hello,
I need help with the following problem.
Stituaion a:
In a reportdesign I have a Table, binded to a SimpleQuery. One Data Element in the Table is binded to DateTime Column of the Query. There is a Bookmark defined for that Data element
In the same Report there is a Bar-Chart with X-Axis values of Type datetime. On X-Axis Interactivity is defined a Hyperlink to the internal bookmark on the Data-element in the table
In Preview the Link is active and it works.

Situation b:
When I have a second Table, binded to a Joined Dataset. everything else is the same as in situation a

(One Data Element in the Table is binded to DateTime Column of the Query. There is a Bookmark defined for that Data element
In the same Report there is a Bar-Chart with X-Axis value sof Type datetime. On X-Axis Interactivity is defined a Hyperlink to the internal bookmark on the Data-element in the Table)

In Preview the Link is active but it does not work. If I run the report in the Web-Viewer there is a error message that says: The bookmark: null is Invalid. Please check and reset the link.

Thanks for your support

Can you recreate this issue with the sample database and attach the design in here? Thanks!

Hallo,

here is the problem which I described created with the samble database. When I lead the Hyperlink of the X-Axis of the chart to the bookmark in the second Table, it jumps to the second table but not to the write entry point. Probably I selected wrong expressions.

Thanks for your help

The hyperlink on the x-axis only has access to the last value. The actual value for the axis is available on the value series interactivity, but not for the x-axis. This is why you see it link to the end of the table each time. As for the error you're getting, the hyperlink is an expression. When you have the chart linked to the Orders dataSet, it has no idea what row["Orders:ORDERDATE"] is, so you'll get null values causing the link to not work giving you an error. If you just say row["ORDERDATE"] for the hyperlink, BIRT will process the hyperlink and find the date value and process the expression for the bookmark and the bookmark will be the date, so having the same expression for the bookmark and hyperlink is not the goal. The goal is to have the same value in the end. Hope this helps.
