Passing a message into chart

How can we show customized message to the user when the chart has no data or when the chart is blank.

You could put something like chartDSRows = 0 in your initialize script of your report, then put chartDSRows++ in the onFetch script of your dataSet, and finally put something like the following in the visibility section of the property editor for the chart:
if (chartDSRows == 0){
true
}
else{
false
}
Then, you'd have a label in your report under your chart that says "No data for chart", or whatever you wanted. Then, in its visibility expression, you'd put the opposite:
if (chartDSRows == 0){
false
}
else{
true
}
Now, if your dataSet returns no rows, your chart will be hidden and a label telling your user that there is no data will be displayed.
