Naming generated pages

I would like to automatically name a JSP page created when a user clicks on the generate button on the DCT. I added the iw_ostream tag with a file parameter to my tpl, but the output goes to a window not to a file and nothing inside the CDATA tag in my tpl is output.

<iw_ostream file='/htdocs/cms_content/alert/agent_alert/AgentAlert.jsp;>

Does anyone have an example of how this works?

I usually disable the generate button (which also means disabling the prompt to regenerate) and have workflow generate the output file according to whatever rules are needed.
