Smart PIE Chart
Rin
Hello,
For a group data like 60,50,40, 20, 10, 5, 4, 0.5, 0.25, 0.125,0.004,0.0001,0.00000005........
Since some data are too small, they will be rendered as a very tiny line in the PIE Chart.
I can add a filter to only have the TOP 5 values with their category name rendered in the PIE Chart.
Is there a way to have a Pie Chart like:
Display the TOP 5 values in different pieces with their corresponding category name, and the others(with small values from 0.5 to 0.00000005) in a single piece named" the Others"
Thanks in advance.

You want it to always be 5? Or do you want to maximize the number of slices that could be visible? Say down to 10 or 20% of the max slice size?

Hi Michael,

Always be 5 will be good. Since the clients usually just care about the Top 3.
Thanks,
This report shows how to use a couple computed columns in your dataSet to do this. I made this report in BIRT 3.7.

This should be the two files you need. It appears a bunch of attached files have been stripped out of the forums. Change the flatfile.csv.txt back to flatfile.csv.
