Variance in crosstab
ReinerE
Hello again,
second (hopefully easy) question.
I would like to compare two columns of a crosstab.
rows = weeks
columns = 2010 and 2011
Any hint for me?
Thx!
-> Any recommendation for a good BIRT Book for Beginners?

Hi ReinerE,
If you select the crosstab, go to the properties Editor and choose the column area tab: add a total column
Now you can change the expression or the function (default it is SUM) as you want.

The Eclipse Series offers a great book for designing BIRT reports.

Hi Hans,<br />
<br />
thx for your help again! Add a total column works perfect! But if i change the SUM function to Variance (Expression and Aggregate on like SUM) I get a "false" result. 2010: 26317 2011: 36755 varinace: 54693876,25<br />
I feel like going to primary school again

That's wrong indeed.
Do you have filters on your crosstab?
What datatype did you use for the totals column?
And what happens if you execute the same report with small numbers? Is it correct then?

Hans

no filters<br />
datatype integer<br />
Error:<br />

Hi ReinerE,
The binding error probably comes from removing a dimension or computed value from the cube or dataset without removing it from the crosstab bindings. Select the crosstab and check in the bindings tab.
Did you try to work with smaller numbers?
