What version of BIRT are you using?
If you are using 3.7 can you try deploying the viewer as a test?

Jason , thanks for the prompt reply. i was able to add the necessary jar files to the Weblogic classpath and was able to to get the Birt engine up and running , But now i am getting the following exception :
" A BIRT exception occurred. See next exception for more information.
Error evaluating Javascript expression. Script engine error: TypeError: [JavaPac
kage test.Mysample] is not a function, it is obj
ect. (/report/data-sets/script-data-set[
@id="
;194"]/method[
@name="
;open"]#1)
Script source: /report/data-sets/script-data-set[
@id="
;194"]/method[
@name="
;open"
], line: 0, text:
__bm_OPEN() "
Where test.Mysample is the java class file i am trying to get data from. I read your comments in another thread to add the following for this problem:
System.setProperty(EngineConstants.WEBAPP_CLASSPATH_KEY,"c:/myclasses/myjar.jar " );
which i added but still am getting the same error. Any pointers appreciated.
I am using Birt2.6.2

Can you post the script?
Assume I have a package called my.test.package and that package contains a class MyClass and that class has a function called MyFunction. The script to call this would look like:
importPackage(Packages.my.test.package);
var obj = new MyClass();
obj.MyFunction();
