Accessing DataSource connection in a trigger.

Hi Birt Gurus,

I have a question. Is it possible to access the database connection used by the DataSouce using java code say in AfterOpen trigger of the datasource?
My requirement is to execute a database procedure before any dataset is executed in the report.
I was thinking of executing a procedure on the AfterOpen trigger of the datasource. Please let me know if this is possible.
