Now I am plannig to use the library. So can you tell me that what are the advantages of using library and when should we use it.

In case if any good example, which shows the use of library is available...then please send that. \

I wanted to know everything regarding LIBRARY and its working in BIRT.

You would use a library to store commonly used elements in your reports so that you don't have to create them over and over. For example dataSources, grids with company logos and info, etc. Designing a library is essentially like designing a report. Everything looks the same for the most part. To use elements from your library, you'll open the library in the resource explorer. From there, you can right click on elements in the library and if your report is open in your design window, you'll have the option to add the element to your design. You can also use the resource explorer and the report outline to bring elements in.

We use Library's a lot in our projects. Especially to manage look and feel. If you set Styles and the master page in a library its easer to edit them later on. If something changes (you don't have 2 edit every report). You may also be interested in using Property Binding + Parameters in a Library. Trough this you can even chance conection to databses based on Library Settings.

I can add another reason.
Much better work (performance) in design mode with small library than with a huge report.

That's true but its a 2 edged sword. When you change a Library and you have reports open updating can take a while because it has to update all the open reports.
