Complex Computed Column
Baku
Hello all,
I am using BIRT 2.6 and here is my issue, maybe it's an easy one but i really don't know how to proceed.
I need to build a Gantt chart to see some tasks with the duration, my data look like this :
Start Date | End Date | Task Name
09:36:12.373 |09:36:29.670 |CopyDimCustomerTask
09:36:12.373 |09:36:29.670 |CopyDimCustomerTask
09:36:12.373 |09:36:29.670 |CopyDimCustomerTask
09:36:12.330 |09:36:52.353 |DimCustomerGroup
09:36:12.330 |09:36:52.353 |DimCustomerGroup
09:36:12.330 |09:36:52.353 |DimCustomerGroup
09:36:12.380 |09:36:47.983 |SendEmailOnSuccessTask
09:36:12.380 |09:36:47.983 |SendEmailOnSuccessTask
09:36:12.380 |09:36:47.983 |SendEmailOnSuccessTask
(There is another column associated for the status of the task, that's why there are the same date for the same tasks)
For my Grantt chart i need a computed column (X) with the coordinate, so my data must be like this :
Start Date | End Date | Task Name |X
09:36:12.373 |09:36:29.670 |CopyDimCustomerTask |5
09:36:12.373 |09:36:29.670 |CopyDimCustomerTask |5
09:36:12.373 |09:36:29.670 |CopyDimCustomerTask |5
09:36:12.330 |09:36:52.353 |DimCustomerGroup |10
09:36:12.330 |09:36:52.353 |DimCustomerGroup |10
09:36:12.330 |09:36:52.353 |DimCustomerGroup |10
09:36:12.380 |09:36:47.983 |SendEmailOnSuccessTask |15
09:36:12.380 |09:36:47.983 |SendEmailOnSuccessTask |15
09:36:12.380 |09:36:47.983 |SendEmailOnSuccessTask |15
How can i do that ?? With a stocked procedure it would be easy but i can't modify directly on the DB..
Thanks in advance for your help !

Finally I managed with another way (2 dataset + 1 joint dataset)
*Edit : Don't know how to set the topic as done ??

The only way to really rate a topic as "done" is to give it a high rating.
As far as a way to do this with a computed column: If your dataSet is ordered by the datetime field, you could initialize a variable in your initialize and increment your last column by 5 each time the datatime value changed. This could avoid using a second dataSet and a join if I'm understanding correctly.
