Running reports from iServer through URL
M_Terk
I have ran into a couple of problems in trying to let users run reports from iServer.
Is there a way to let users access reports from iServer by giving them a url that would prompt them to log in, then prompt them for parameteres and then execute the report. Right now they log in, seach for their report in a list of reports. I would like to minimize the amount of interaction they have before they get their output.
In addition, I would like to specify the format of the output from the url since most of my users would like to bypass the export content step and just get excel output of the report.
Thanks in advance,
Michael Terk

Hi Michael,
URL approach is the easiest way to integrate BIRT iServer and it is completely documented in chapter 6 of the Information Console developer guide:
http://www.birt-exchange.com/be/documentation/Manuals11SP2/info-console-iserver.pdf

Here is the URL that you would need for your specific need:

http://localhost:8900/iportal/executereport.do?__executableName=/Public/BIRT and BIRT Studio Examples/Sales Invoice.rptdesign&__format=pdf
