Report Engine wrapped in a web-server

Hi Folkes,

I'm a new Birt user working on a project where I need to deploy a server that returns report results in html or pdf given input parameters. The client calling is a web-app... The questions that I had is Report View sufficient for this task? If yes, is it possible to add user access control on top of it? if no, is there any good tutorials describing setup and deployment of the ReportEngine wrapped in a web server?
