Eclipse - BIRT getting closed abruptly
kumaresh
Hi
I have been observing that ever since we moved to Eclipse - 3.7 from Eclipse - 2.6.2, my eclipse suddenly closes by itself with an error message "IDE Exception has occurred". Is there any reason why this is happening?
is it because of my system capabilities or anything related to the new version of BIRT.

I have not seen this. Do you get any .log file in the Eclipse install directories?

What OS are you using?
I have seen that BIRT 3.7 closes Eclipse abruptly when it should display a PDF file without having a PDF Viewer installed on Linux.

There is no log file generated when this occurs.
Am using Windows XP OS.
And nowadays, this problem is occurring often. At least once every one hour!

If eclipse closes abruptly this is because of a jvm crash. If the jvm crashes it normally creates a log file containing a error. This log can be found in the folder your eclipse.exe is located. The filename has pattern hs_err_pidXXXX.log can you upload this file if it exists?
