Combine multiple rptdesign files into one single report
srikala
we have developed reports for each single device. Now we want to combine all the three reports into one rptdesign file.
Please guide us through that.
Awaiting for your answer.

Copy/Paste the Data, Layout, and Outline(pages, embedded images, etc) objects?
You may be able to do it purely in the XML Source, but it can get pretty confusing and one bad paste where you can't find the bad character means you have to start over.
You could probably do the same sending things to rptlibraries, but those currently have a huge performance hit over a standalone rptdesign.

thustons suggestion will work from a report design perspective with no problems. You can do this from the designer, and it shouldn't cause any concerns. If it is for different devices, you can hide the tables based on environment variables.
In the past we have written special emitters to handle this for clients, where they pass a list of report names to prefix and append to a report.
So you have a couple of options.

i have three different reports , we are developing them individually and combining al the three after design. When i combine or copy and past each of these reports one after the other, is there a way then i can make each report as one section so that i can hide say report1 when there is no relavant data and show the report when there is data. If so how can i make the three reports as three sections.<br />
Kindly help.

Hi, I have developed three different reports using Birt3.7, I need to combine all the three rptdesign files to single design file. When i combine or copy and past each of these reports one after the other, is there a way where i can make each report should display in each page, how can I do pagination in the design as to display in three different pages. I have attached the rptdesign files.
Each design files contains chart and table beneath the chart, here the table is same for all three reports. could anyone help me out on this?
