Crosstab with a certain column repeating

We have made a report that has a large number of columns generated in a crosstab. With this we have run into space issues in the pdf format, and requirements specify that the total column should be on the left hand side of every page. This has caused significant effort and we still have not been able to locate a solution. We are looking for any assistance or knowledge of a feature within BIRT that would help us achieve this.

We are not ruling out any Java based scripting or other solutions.

If any clarification of the problem is needed, or a rptdesign required I can provide both.

Does this mean that you'd like to have the total column to repeat every 4 because you're showing 4 column per page and then want the total column to re-appear as the first in the next page?

Yes, that is right. We would want the total column to be repeated every 4 because we are showing 4 columns every page, with the Total column as the first column on each page.
