Themes with birt and jsp

Hii,
I am a newbie to birt.

Themes are not getting applied when birt report is integrated with jsp page using birt viewer tag.

I am trying to integrate my Birt Report with jsp page using birt viewer tag.

I created following files in Birt:-

Birt egLibrary.rptlibrary with Themes,
Birt egTemplate.rpttemplate(which has egLibrary.rptlibrary),
Birt egReport.rptdesign(which has been created from egTemplate.rpttemplate).

Themes get applied when I view the report in Birt Viewer but when I view the Report on Jsp Page Themes
Do not get displayed.

When I change the path of Birt Library in XMl of egReport.rptdesign("WebContent/egFolder/egLibrary.rptLibrary" to "/egFolder/egLibrary.rptLibrary")
then the Themes get applied on the jsp page but they are not visible in the preview.XML file of egReport.rptdesign shows an error "egLibrary.rptLibrary" not found.

Same problem occurs with the Data Source which has been created inside Library.

Kindly let me know how to display themes in both jsp page as well as in birtviewer preview.

In the tag library jsp are you referncing the viewer? In the web.xml are you setting the resource folder?

btw in the viewer tag you can specify a resource folder as well using the resourceFolder attribute.

Hi,

I am also working on the same project.

Tried the above solution placed the rptlibrary in

/temp folder & changed the resourceFolder in BirtViewer tag to

/temp. Theme does not gets applied by doing so.

We want to follow folder structure like birtLibFolder, birtTemplateFolder & birtReportFolders.

If we place egBirtLibrary.rptLibrary, egBirtTemplate.rpttemplate & egBirtReportDesign.rptdesign at one place
then themes get applied & we can view the report correctly in preview as well as on jsp page (After Changing out WebContent/egBirtLibrary path
to egBirtLibrary on Xml of egBirtTemplate.rpttemplate ).

But if we move these files to different Folders as follows:=

testBirtLibs Folder -> egBirtLibrary.rptLibrary
testBirtTemplate Folder -> egBirtTemplate.rpttemplate
testBirtReport Folder -> egBirtReportDesign.rptdesign

Changing the path of rptlibrary in xml of rptdesign to WebContent/testBirtLibs/egBirtLibrary shows correct results in
preview but it does not applies themes on jsp page and when we remove WebContent from the above path
then themes get applied on jsp page but preview does not shows correct results.

Do you mean preview in designer? Are you setting the resource folder in the design environment?
window->preferences-Report Design->resources

Thanks for the Reply!!

Above problem got solved by changing the Resource Path (Windows->Preferences->Report Design->Resources) from
Current Working folder to currentWorkingFolder/WebContent.

This setting is for the Complete Workspace Can we set the resource path project specificwise. Clicking on Configure Project Specific Settings is displaying a Project window but none of the projects is getting listed there?

When you configure project specific settings it should list all birt report projects. Is this not happening in your case?

No it is not displaying any project.

Any chance you could create a new birt report project in your workspace and see if it shows up? What version of BIRT are you using?
