Integrating Birt 3.7.0 in J2EE Application
Mr.Reed
Hello,
using in a Swing-J2EE-Application the new Birt 3.7.0 - with the changed architecture-feature, that the libs can be put directly in the WEB-Inf/lib - directory, - i am having trouble with older jar-versions.
For example the application uses the seperate iText-Version 2.0.3 and now i want to print some documents with birt and some documents as before (with iText 2.0.3). So copying the engine-jars to the WEB-Inf-lib directory, the new iText-version 2.1.7 from Birt is used and collides with the 2.0.3 version (because deprecated methods were omitted, printing with iText doesn't work anymore).
Is there a possibility to use both versions? Or would i have to update to the newer version?
Can I maybe still use the old way (like in Birt 2.6.2) of setting the engineConfig to a path, where the report engine is located, so the reportEngine-jars are loaded seperately?
Or is there maybe another way that i didn't think of?
Thanks in advance,
Marco

Marco,
Can you log an enhancement request to support the older deployment model as well?
Jason
Mr.Reed
Jason,
hope i got you right:
Did you mean with "older deployment model" the way of configuring a path to the engine (as in Birt-versions before 3.7)? Where would i log such a request?

That is correct. Look at the bugzilla heading here:
