Adding cover page to the report
mohanraj_1
I need to generate report with following requirement
1. First page is a cover page which contains log, and report name(Dynamic) but no header and footer
2. Rest of the pages contain Header report name(Dynamic) and Footer with page number.
Can anyone tell me how to add the cover page.
Thanks in advance

hi
To Start Header from 2nd page go to master page property editor, in header/footer set show header on first page to unmarked.

I unchecked the header -> "Show header on first" page this eliminated the header. But not able to remove Footer. Footer doen't have "Show footer on first" page rather it has "Show footer on last" page.
Any idea how to remove footer from firat page only?
Thanks

I would rather suggest to work with 2 different Master Pages:
Therefore you have to add another Master Page Element to your report using the Outline View of the report. Configure this master page to have height=0 for header and height=0 for Footer (make sure header and footer for this master page is empty)
Now go to the element that generates your cover. I m assuming that you have your cover page in a single grid. If that's the case select the top level element of your cover (e.g. the grid) go to Page break and have a look at the master page drop down there. Select the master page you have created before. If your cover is not nested in a single top level element (grid) you can simply select the first element from top and left of your cover (it is important that it's the first one!)
Now go to the first element that is part of your report. With first element i mean the first element after your cover. Select this element. Go to Page break and have a look for the Master Page drop down again. Select the initial master page that has footer and header.
One last thing to remember: Because you selected to change the master page from one to another from cover to the first content element BIRT automatically adds a page break. You should make sure that you don't have another page break added because you selected always in the page break property of one of the elements.
hope this helps

Thanks, It worked. But the footer on the second page the number starts from "2" instead of "1". Can I reset the page number? I am using the auto text "page-number" for the page number.
Thanks a lot
