Birt report viewer in Firefox 7
ajunuthula
Hi,
I have few problems with the report viewer in firefox 7.
http://wisdom.rockefeller.edu:8080/birt/frameset?__report=newpublications.rptdesign&From(year)=2010&To(year)=2010&PMCID Only=YES
The report above was working fine in firefox 3.6 but in version 7, the buttons list and edit dont work.
Please let me know, if needed I can attach the report design also.
Thank you.

Is the viewer not working or are these buttons in the design that aren't working? If they're html buttons in your report with script tags, there is an issue with script tags in firefox. Does it work correctly in IE?

The buttons (html buttons with script tags)in the design are not working. These were working in earlier versions of firefox 3 and 4.
Attached is the report design and the buttons that experience the problem are named as List and Edit.
Please advise.
Thank you,

I suggest to install the firebug extension for Firefox to debug the javaScript i did it quick test using your site and it complains that some funtions that are used as onClick handler for the buttons are not correctly defined. The problem is with the javaScript functions you added to your report.
If there are some buttons working in the report it would make sense to compare the section that add javaScript functions to the report with each other to see a difference.

Hi,
Thank you for the information.
I tried with firebug and got the error as edit and list functions are not defined.
Here is my code for the list button:
<script type="text/javascript">
function list(){
var from = <VALUE-OF>params["From(year)"]</VALUE-OF>;
var to = <VALUE-OF>params["To(year)"]</VALUE-OF>;
//var pmc = <VALUE-OF>params["PMCID Only"]</VALUE-OF>;
var c="<VALUE-OF>params["PMCID Only"]</VALUE-OF>"
var param = "titles1.rptdesign";
var paramString1 = "titles.rptdesign";
var paramString2 = "&From(year)=" + from;
var paramString3 = "&To(year)=" + to;
if (c == "NO")
{
window.location = "
http://wisdom.rockefeller.edu:8080/birt/frameset?__report="
; +param+paramString2+paramString3;
}
else
{
window.location = "
http://wisdom.rockefeller.edu:8080/birt/frameset?__report="
; +paramString1+paramString2+paramString3;
}
}
</script>
<form>
<INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" VALUE="List " ONCLICK="list()">
</form>
Please let me know .
Than you.

Hi,
The code below
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function check()
{
window.location.replace ("
http://www.google.com")
;
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form>
<input type="button" value="Test" onclick="check()" />
</form>
</body>
</html>
works fine in firefox 7 but when I try to run this from within birt 3.7 and deploy in tomcat and then run it, the button is not functioning.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

You might check the bugs for this being reported:
http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/resources/bug-reporting/
I've seen several others having this issue with BIRT and firefox. If you don't find a bug about this with a quick search, you might log one for it and see what they say. Please post any bug info you find in here! Thanks!
